The First Look And Teaser Of Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi Were Out Today

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut is back to Tamil cinema with the biopic of J Jayalalithaa, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The biopic titled Thalaivi is helmed by AL Vijay and jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh.

Thalaivi will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa and Arvind Swami reprising the role of later actor-politician MG Ramachandran aka MGR. The rest of the cast and crew of Thalaivi will be announced soon.

Director Vijay, in an earlier interview to a daily, said, “This is a pan-Indian film, and Kangana is apt for the role. She is one of the biggest stars in India today and I think it is right that a top star plays the role of an important politician. We consider this a pan-Indian film, not a regional one. There was a lot of discussions before the decision was made to cast Kangana; we met several people as well.”

In a surprise announcement, the makers of Thalaivi released the film’s first look poster and teaser of the film.

Sharing the first-look poster, producer Vishnu Induri wrote, “#ThalaiviFirstlook The legend we know, but the story that is yet to be told! Presenting #KanganaRanaut, in & as #Thalaivi. A film by #Vijay, arriving in cinemas on 26th June 2020”

Along with the poster, the teaser of Thalaivi has been out as well. In the one-minute-long teaser, Kangana is seen recreating a popular song of Jayalalithaa’s. Soon, the ambience changes and Kangana waves to a huge crowd as politician Jayalalithaa.
