Violating Hijab Order Can Lead To Anti-National Activities: Union Min

Mumbai: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shobha Karandlaje said that violating the Karnataka High Court order which restricts the use of hijab in educational institutions can lead to anti-social and anti-national activities.

“The High Court has already made it clear that there is no scope for hijab in the classroom. All the people living here should respect the law of the land. Strict action should be taken against those violating the High Court order as it will lead to anti-social and anti-national activities,” Karandlaje said.

Her remarks come a day after 12 women of Mangalore University’s University College in Dakshina Kannada’s district headquarters city Mangaluru were denied admission citing a high court order.

Speaking about a ‘love jihad’ case in coastal Karnataka and the protest by Bajrang Dal, Karandlaje demanded a stringent law to put an end to such cases.
