We Suspect Money Earned From Porn Videos Was Used For Betting: Police On Kundra’s Case

Mumbai: Speaking about the Raj Kundra porn videos case, Mumbai Police told the Magistrate Court on Friday that they suspect money earned from pornography was used for online betting.

Shilpa Shetty‘s husband Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 for being a ‘key conspirator in producing and making pornographic films. His custody was extended until July 23 (Friday).

Today, Raj along with his partner Ryan Thorpe appeared before Magistrate Cout and Mumbai Police has sought seven days of police custody. Raj and Ryan have now been sent to police custody till July 27.

An official post by news agency ANI confirmed the news to state, “Police suspect that money earned from pornography was used for online betting. This is why transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated, Mumbai Police tells Court. Maharashtra: Businessman Raj Kundra & one Ryan Thorpe have been sent to police custody till 27th July”

Raj has been charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 420 (cheating), 34 (general intent), 292 and 293 (relating to obscene and obscene advertisements and display) and relevant sections of the IT Act and obscene acts. Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
