Referring to the Congress manifesto released on Sunday for Goa elections, Gandhi assured 30 per cent reservation for women in state government jobs.

She also said that Rs 500 crore will be allocated from the government fund for the creation of jobs.

She said that under the NYAY scheme, Rs 6,000 per month would be given to the families of the weaker sections, which would help them to retain and invest money in the economy.

Congress has assured to build hostels for working women in Margao and Panaji and to increase the number of police stations under the supervision of women.

The party has also announced that petrol and diesel prices will not be allowed to rise above Rs 80 per litre, and the party government will subsidize the remaining amount.

Notably, the Congress had emerged as the single largest party in the 40-member Goa Assembly after the 2017 state elections, but the BJP forged an alliance with some regional organizations and independents to form the government.
