5 People Killed As Bus Catches Fire After Colliding With Truck In Rajasthan

Mumbai: At least five people died while several others suffered injuries as a passenger bus caught fire after colliding with a truck near Pachpadra in Rajasthan’s Barmer district on Wednesday.

The bus caught fire following a collision with the tanker trailer on Barmer-Jodhpur Highway, news agency ANI reported.

“Total eight people were killed so far in the collision between a passenger bus and a truck near Pachpadra in Rajasthan’s Barmer district,” said Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava.

According to media reports, there were about 25 people on the bus.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot instructed the District Collector for relief and rescue work, asked to ensure the treatment of the injured.

District administration officials along with the police have reached the spot to take stock of the situation.

The incident has led to traffic congestion in the area.
