513 Doctors Including 103 From Delhi Succumbed To COVID In Second Wave: IMA

Mumbai: As many as 513 doctors have lost their lives so far during the second COVID19 wave and 103 out of these casualties have been reported from Delhi said the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Tuesday.

The doctors’ association said at least 96 doctors have died in Bihar and 41 in Uttar Pradesh. The state-wise data of IMA reveals that as many as 31 doctors succumbed to COVID19 in Gujarat, 29 in Telangana, 19 in West Bengal and 16 in Odisha.

Despite all odds, they have won many battles by standing firm day and night. However, many of them have laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Though, “Maharashtra has witnessed deaths of 15 doctors in the ongoing second wave of COVID19,” the doctors’ association said.

However, the national capital is recently witnessing a decline in the COVID19 cases after an overwhelming crisis in April. The service has extended by these warriors deserves appreciation for they are the ones fighting for our safety and working for humanity.

Earlier, in the first COVID wave in August 2020, over 87,000 healthcare workers got infected 87,000 healthcare workers in just six states.

Meanwhile, Delhi has recorded 1,568 Covid cases on Tuesday from 73,406 tests. It’s a little higher than Monday’s 1,550 cases, but the positivity rate has dipped to 2.14% from 2.52%. The death count also continues to fall, with156 on Tuesday as against Monday’s 189.
