Actor Sooraj Pancholi Says He Is Being Defamed In Sushant Singh Rajput Case
Mumbai: Sooraj Pancholi on Tuesday filed a complaint to the Mumbai Police, which is linked to the case of death of fellow actor Sushant Singh Rajput, an official said on Tuesday.
Pancholi said in his complaint at the Versova police station here on Monday night that he was being defamed on various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by linking him to the death of Rajputs.
“We have received an application from Sooraj Pancholi and an inquiry is going on,” said Raghavendra Thakur, senior inspector of Versova police station.
So far, no crime has been registered (in relation to Pancholi’s complaint), the official said.
Recently some social media messages, screenshots, and abusive content were allegedly linking Pancholi to the death of Rajput and later former manager Disha Salian.
Rajput, 34, was found hanged in his apartment in suburban Bandra on 14 June.
28-year-old Salian allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a tall building in Malad area here on 8 June.
Rajput’s father. K K. Singh lodged a complaint with Patna police on July 25 against Chakraborty and his family members, alleging kidnapping over the actor’s suicide.
The CBI last week registered the FIR as a new case and named the accused as accused.
Singh also alleged financial irregularities in his son’s bank accounts.
The Enforcement Directorate has questioned Chakraborty, Rajput’s friend and roommate Siddharth Pathani, the late actor’s business manager Shruti Modi and some other persons in a money laundering case related to his death.
