Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday claimed that it was a conspiracy to link Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray with the case of death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Though he did not take any name, the Rajya Sabha MP said that the opposition still cannot digest the fact that the Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra is in power.
Raut told the media that “what has Aaditya Thackeray got to do with the Sushant Singh Rajput case it seems that the opposition still cannot digest that the Shiv Sena-led government has come to power in the state.
Those who conspired to link Sushant’s case to Aditya Thackeray, who is the son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, will have to pay a heavy price for it, he said.
Notably, Aditya Thackeray claimed yesterday that he had no connection with the case, he and his family were being targeted without any reason.
“The Maharashtra government is making every effort to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. Seeing the success and popularity of the government, those who cannot digest it have started doing politics with the case of Sushant Singh Rajput,” he said.
Aditya said, “It is like licking ‘ghee’ from a dead body, who is ill. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is tragic and shocking. I have nothing to do with this case.”
“I want to make it clear that I am the grandson of Hindu heart emperor Bala Saheb Thackeray and I will never do anything that tarnishes the image of Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, or Thackeray family. Such cheap accusers should realize this, “Aditya insisted.
In a related development, the Center on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that it has accepted the recommendation made by the Bihar government regarding a CBI probe into the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
