UP Issues Golden Cards To 26,000 Families To Give Free Medical Aid

UP: The Uttar Pradesh government distributed golden cards to 26,000 families in the state on Tuesday as part of its drive to provide free medical aid to underprivileged people.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday distributed golden cards under the Ayushman Bharat scheme to 26,000 families as part of its campaign to provide free medical aid to the underprivileged sections of the society.

Under Ayushman Yojana, more than 6.5 crore beneficiaries have got golden cards in the state so far. However, the current campaign aims to cover over 40 lakh Antyodaya cardholders who are not covered under the scheme.

Any beneficiary can use this card to avail of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in any empaneled hospital across the country.

The Chief Minister said on Tuesday that as per the decision, families having Antyodaya cards at the bottom of the social ladder would be able to pay their medical bills more easily.

This campaign should be run with full commitment and the benefits of the scheme should be extended to all the eligible people.

These new beneficiaries will be linked to Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana.

This will not only reduce the financial burden on the poor and underprivileged families across the state but will also ensure that the poorest members of the society have access to quality health care services.
