2024 General Elections: ‘Poore Desh Me Khela Hoga’ It Will Be Modi VS Country Says Mamata Banerjee

Mumbai With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in mind, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said it will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi Vs the country.  “Poore desh me khela hoga. It’s a continuous process,” said Banerjee.

Talking to reporters, the TMC leader said that Narendra Modi’s popularity was high in 2019.

“Today, they did not keep a record of the bodies, last rites were denied, and bodies were thrown into the river Ganga,” she said, adding that people who lost loved ones will never forget and never forgive.

Asked who will lead the opposition, she shot back, “I’m not an astrologer… Someone will emerge, I will support”.

“I am not a political astrologer. It depends on the situation, structure. I have no problem if someone else leads. When the matter is discussed we can decide. I cannot impose,” Banerjee told reporters who asked if she would represent the Opposition.

The West Bengal CM, who is in New Delhi for the first time after her party registered victory in the Assembly Elections, said: “I am a simple worker and want to continue as a worker.”

“I want to see sachcha din, bahut din achcha din dekh liya,” added Banerjee while taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s poll slogan.

She also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday for what she described as a courtesy meeting.
