Mumbai: A team of National Commission for Women (NCW) met the mother of Unnao rape victim in Lucknow on Tuesday, who was seriously injured in a car-truck collision two days ago.
The commission said that the NCW team met a 19-year-old mother but could not meet the victim, who has accused Sengor of raping her.
After the rape, the family of the surviving family lodged a complaint, accusing the conspiracy behind the incident, the police had filed a case of murder against BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar and nine others on Monday.
Police said that a car which victim, her family and lawyers were clashed with an over-speed truck in Rae Bareli on Sunday, killing two members and the advocate seriously injured.
The woman’s maternal aunt succumbed to injuries in a district hospital and the others were transferred to a trauma centre in Lucknow, police said.
NCW had said in its notice, “The Commission is seriously worried that in view of the seriousness of the matter, a complete, impartial and quick investigation of the matter has been requested to ensure and take action.”
The commission also demanded that it be kept apprised at every stage of the investigation, according to the notice.
