AAP To Contest On All 182 Seats In Upcoming Gujarat Assembly Polls

Mumbai: Ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections, Delhi Deputy CM and AAP leader Manish Sisodia announced that the party will be contesting the polls on all 182 seats in the state.

In Vadodara, Sisodia said that the people of Gujarat had no option in the elections, but AAP is contesting on all the seats, and now they will have an option.

“We will contest all the seats in Gujarat. Now, the people of Gujarat have to decide. Till now the people of Gujarat had no option, but now they have an option,” he said.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will visit the state on June 6 to attend the party’s tricolour yatra in Mehsana.

Kejriwal had urged the people of Gujarat to give a chance to his party in the upcoming elections in the state. He said that his party would end the cycle of corruption in the state after coming to power.

After its resounding victory in the recently held Punjab Assembly elections, AAP is trying to expand its footprint to other states. The party made its debut in Gujarat in the 2017 assembly election, but could not open its account. Assembly elections are due in Gujarat this year.

AAP’s Gujarat hopes are boosted by its performance in the February 2021 Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections, in which the BJP won 93 seats, while Aam Aadmi Party bagged 27 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation election while Congress drew a blank.
