Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Alleges ‘Conspiracy To Break Congress Across North-East’

Mumbai: Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday alleged that the TMC is trying to break congress not only in Meghalaya but the whole northeast, on 12 Congress MLAs in Meghalaya to join TMC.

In a massive jolt to the opposition Congress in Meghalaya, 12 of its 17 MLAs led by former chief minister Mukul Sangma joined Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress. Also Read: 12 Of 17 Congress MLAs Including Former CM Mukul Sangma Join TMC In Meghalaya

“This conspiracy to break Congress is happening not only in Meghalaya but the whole northeast. I challenge CM Mamata Banerjee to first elect them on TMC’s symbol & then formally welcome them to her party,” said Chowdhury.

Attacking West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Chowdhury said that Pm Modi will be furious if she meets Sonia Gandhi now.

“If she (Mamata Banerjee) meets Sonia Gandhi now, then PM Modi will get angry. Her actions changed soon after her nephew was summoned by ED. Before this, she wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi to fight against BJP together,” said Congress MP.

He added, “This all is being done by Prashant Kishor and TMC’s leader Luizinho Faleiro. We were aware of this.”

With the latest political development, despite not winning any seat in the 2018 Assembly elections to the 60-member assembly, the Trinamool Congress became the main opposition party in Meghalaya house.

Earlier, Congress MP from Bihar Kirti Azad, former Janata Dal (United) general secretary Pawan Varma and Haryana politician Ashok Tanwar had joined her party.
