Gautam Gambhir Asks BJP To Relieve Him Of His Political Duties

Mumbai: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, ex-cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on Saturday said he has asked BJP chief JP Nadda to relieve him of his political duties so he can focus on his cricketing commitments.

“I have requested BJP president JP Nadda ji to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my upcoming cricket commitments. I sincerely thank Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah ji for giving me the opportunity to serve the people. Jai Hind!,” he wrote.

But he didn’t say whether or not he was leaving politics.

Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Gautam Gambhir became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He overcame Atishi, an AAP candidate from East Delhi.

The news is released a few weeks before the Lok Sabha elections.

It appears from his comments that he will not be contesting the Lok Sabha from Delhi this time. One of the most well-known figures in India’s premier sports competition, the Indian Premier League, is Gautam Gambhir, an ex-cricketer who was instrumental in the country’s victory in the 2007 and 2011 World Cups.

The IPL is anticipated to begin next month.

One of the most influential cricketers in the nation is Gautam Gambhir. In 58 test matches, he amassed 4,154 runs at a respectable average of 41.96. He averaged 39.68 while scoring 5,238 runs in 147 matches throughout the ODI season. He is now the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL franchise of Shahrukh Khan.

Last month, the two INDIA bloc partners announced that the AAP will contest 4 seats in the national capital, the Congress 3.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won all seven seats in Delhi.
