Akshay Kumar Donates ₹1 Crore To 25 Flood-Affected Families In Bihar

Mumbai: If there’s one Bollywood celebrity who has always been among the front runners in supporting various causes, it’s Akshay Kumar. Akshay has contributed ₹4 lakh each towards the rehabilitation of 25 families, who were affected by the floods in Bihar.

The recent flood situation led to a massive loss to both life and property, Akshay wanted to help them in whatever way he could. He decided to donate Rs 1 crore, and contacted Hindustan newspaper, they find out people who are in need, struggling badly and lost almost everything.

The actor says, “A natural calamity reminds we are nothing in front of it. We should do whatever we can. I am very happy that I got the opportunity to do little I could. It couldn’t get bigger than being able to help those people, who have lost everything, start all over again.”

Among these shortlisted families are two belonging to Patna-Rajasthan both into fish business, one is grocery shop owner, A family of ten who was dependent on grocery shop, Ahead of 12 members family used to run flour mill, but because of floods the machinery was destroyed, The six-member family doing labour work, A family of 8 has nothing left with their grocery and paan shops both destroyed.

Akshay has contributed a sum of Rs 4 lakh each towards families who would be handed over cheques on Chauth Pooja.
