Akshay Kumar Ranks Fourth On Forbes World’s Highest-Paid Actors 2019
Mumbai: Akshay Kumar has been on a roll in Bollywood with his spectacular Movies that both made us giggle and think about the situations in our society. Also, the actor has bagged a fourth position on the Forbes World’s Highest-Paid Actors of 2019 list. He has climbed all the way up beating Bradley Cooper, Will Smith, and Adam Sandler.
Almost all of his recent movies have crossed the 100-crore mark and he has successfully raked in a sum of $65 million under his name which approximately calculates to Rs. 467 crore. Mission Mangal was Khiladi’s tenth superhit movie in a row.
“Mission Mangal”, which has raked in Rs 121.23 crore, after “Kesari” which grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide in its opening weekend earlier this year, “Gold” (Rs 102.10 crore), “Pad Man” (Rs 78.22 crore), “Toilet – Ek Prem Katha” (Rs 132.07 crore), “Jolly LLB 2” (Rs 117 crore), “Rustom” (Rs 127.49 crore), “Housefull 3” (Rs 109.14 crore), “Airlift” (Rs 128.1 crore) and “Singh Is Bliing” (Rs 89.95 crore).
The actor first started out in the year 1987 and performed a small role in the movie Aaj. Later on, he went on to work in movies like Saugandh and Khidladi which made him famous. The movie tagged Akshay as the Khiladi of Bollywood. After doing suspense thrillers and action movies he stepped out of his comfort zone and tried his luck in comedy through the movie Hera Pheri which was a great hit.
The ‘Hera Pheri’ was then followed by movies like Phir Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Welcome, Singh Is King and Houseful. He later went on to work on family drama movies and the movies that conveyed a social message.
Movies like “Housefull 3”, “OMG – Oh My God!”, “Special 26”, “Jolly LLB 2”, “Holiday”, “Baby”, “Airlift” were deep and provided the audience with a smile on their faces. And “Rustom”, which won him his first National Award.
Akshay then worked in films with a social message with films like “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and “Pad Man”.
Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson topped the list with $89.4 million under his name. Chris Hemsworth aka Thor has bagged the second place with his total income calculated to be $76.4 million that is Rs. 594 crores. He is followed by his Avengers Co-star, Robert Downey Jr. on the third position and Bradley Cooper(The Rocket), Chris Evans(Captain America), and Paul Rudd (Ant-man) at sixth, eighth and ninth position respectively.
