All 9 Omicron-Infected Patients In Rajasthan Discharged After Testing Negative

Mumbai: All the nine Omicron-infected patients in Rajasthan have been discharged from Jaipur’s Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Hospital after testing negative, the state health department said.

Stating that they are healthy and asymptomatic, with absolutely normal reports of blood tests and CT scans, the department also said that their doctors have advised them of a policy of home quarantine for seven days.

Parsadi Lal Meena, who is the Cabinet Minister of Health & State Excise in the Ashok Gehlot administration, said that “after the report of genome sequencing, the treatment was started by admitting the infected persons to RUHS,” Mint reported.

Apart from this, tracking and tracing of all the people who came in contact with infected patients have been started.

Apart from Rajasthan, the Omicron variant has appeared in states such as Karnataka, Gujarat, Delhi and Maharashtra.

So far, this version appears to be more permeable but less lethal. But the general consensus on the vaccine’s effectiveness is divided.

Cautioning that the new version is “apparently highly permeable”, and “very likely from Delta,” Anthony Fauci (Chief Medical Adviser to President Biden) has also said that Omicron is “almost certainly is not more severe than Delta.”

Additionally, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has warned that the number of COVID deaths and hospitalizations in Europe will increase in the next few weeks.

Countries such as France, Britain, Poland and Norway have begun tightening domestic restrictions to curb the new version, such as making face masks mandatory or reducing upper limit capacity at hospitality sites.
