Anju Modi In Association With Tyaani By Karan Johar Previews her New Collection ‘Masakali’

Mumbai: It’s an extraordinary event when there is a beautiful marriage of legacy and tradition. And that is exactly what happened when couturier, Anju Modi collaborated with Bollywood’s favourite brand, Tyaani by Karan Johar for her new collection preview at Verbena, Mumbai.

The collaboration of both brands was a perfect match – where Anju Modi represented the vintage charm with legacy, and Tyaani by Karan Johar represented finesse and tradition. Both the brands showcased the beautiful colours of spring with light pastels and beautiful floral hues that are perfect for the season.

Anju Modi’s new Spring Summer’19 collection, Masakali, is a meditation on the art of finding joy in serene moments that are often forgotten in the meteoric madness of a world that is constantly striving to be hyper-connected at all times. And the inspiration comes from Anju’s love for nature, where Masakali means sprouting of a bud. The collection is based on fresh new looks where the silhouettes are a contemporary take on Indian wear; where floral embroidery is juxtaposed with versatile textures, smock detailing and trims of crochet. The fabrics are all breathable but luxe, ranging from Banarasi, Chanderi, Khadi, cotton and linen that consists of Kurtis, capes, palazzos and skirts.

The elegantly crafted ensembles were curated in a span of over six months. The colours vary from pastels to mustards, all soothing yet adding a hint of colour to show the bright sunlight falling on dewy grass.“The inspiration for Masakali also comes from my love for nature and I guess you can see that,” says the designer, whose clothes have always been known to stand out for the embroidery she uses.

Matching the Masakali collection in celebrating the vibrant colours of spring was the handpicked selection of fine Polki jewellery from Tyaani by Karan Johar. Known for its finesse – each piece of Tyaani Jewellery is finely handcrafted in 22 KT gold and studded with carefully selected certified, natural polkis. The collection on display at Verbena was true to the essence of the brand celebrating the traditions of polki jewellery with contemporary designs. Tyaani by Karan Johar is known for taking polki jewellery out of the bridal trousseau and a part of everyday wear. For this particular event, the brand chose to display a selection of bridal necklaces in light pastel hues, chandbalis in contemporary shapes, and other designs in 22 karat gold that made for the ideal occasion or everyday wear.
