BMC Files FIR Against Bollywood Actress Gauahar Khan In Mumbai For Flouting Corona Guidelines

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday 15 March lodged an FIR against Gauahar Khan for breaking the COVID-19 rule.

According to BMC, the actress positively tested COVID -19 and improved cooperation with the civil authority and acted negligently.

Tweeting a copy of the FIR, the civic body wrote, “No Compromise On City’s Safety! BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood actor for non-compliance with COVID19 guidelines on testing positive. The rules apply to all alike and we urge citizens to follow all guidelines and help the city beat the virus (sic).”

A BMC official said, “When the civic staff went to her residence to put home quarantine stamp she refused to open the door.”

A case has been registered against Gauhar Khan under various sections 269 and 270 of the IPC. An FIR was lodged at Oshiwara Police Station.

Another BMC official added that they had received a complaint from someone that Gauahar wasn’t at home even after testing positive for Covid-19

He said, “When we called her she returned home after ten minutes and said that she had done a test and was now negative. But we told him that it affects work in that way. This criticism was a responsible behavior. There was non-cooperation from his end.”

The actress didn’t respond to the phone calls and messages till the time this story was put out.

BMC press release said, “A case has been registered against a film actress who was seen in a public place despite being suffering from Covid19…the actress was not only roaming in public places but was taking part in film shoots as well…Proceedings are also underway to admit them to the municipal separation enter…A police complaint has been lodged by the officials of the health department of the ‘K West’ division of the BMC. The police have registered a case under sections 188, 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 2 and 3 of the Communicable Diseases Control Act.”

BMC press release added that when Gauahar Khan didn’t open the door to her house, a social worker had to be called in and it was only after that the actress agreed to the quarantine stamp.
