CM Mamata Criticises Arm Rallies On Ram Navami Carried Out By BJP

Mumbai: On Saturday on occasion of Ram Navami, 100 of rallies were taken out by BJP and VHP in several parts of the state which were criticized by state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

West Midnapore, Purulia, Jhargram, Bankura, Howrah, Kolkata and in North and South 24 Parganas districts were the place where rallies took out.

BJP state president, Dilip Ghosh took out arm rally in at Kharagpur in West Midnapur. They were seen displaying with maces and swords.

Ghosh answered when was asked that why he took out rally with swords and maces he said, “We are taking this for protection as its a part of our culture and it has nothing to link with elections. Trinamool should change their thinking if they have a problem with the rally.”

CM Mamata while addressing a rally in Siliguri charged BJP for ‘selling religion’.

State Capital, Kolkata police stated that no rallies are allowed to take bike rallies whether it is political, apolitical or religious organizations.

BJP was restricted to carry out rallies on the bike but however VHP and the party were allowed to carry out normal rallies.

The State Police also restricted for carrying out arms during the rally.

Around 700 rallies were planned by Vishva Hindu Parishad(VHP) and several rallies were carried out in South Bengal.

VHP organisational general secretary (eastern region) Sachindranath Sinha said, ‘Permission is been granted to carry out rallies and we will follow rules of police and no one will carry arms during Ram Navami rallies conducted by VHP’
