Country Has Constitution And Freedom Because Of Congress: Maha Congress Leader Nana Patole

Mumbai: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Nana Patole on Monday said PM Narendra Modi’s remark that the Congress party gave free train tickets to migrants to leave Mumbai is ‘wrong’.

Claiming that the country got independence and constitution because of Congress, Patole questioned why BJP cannot speak anything without bringing the Congress party in the middle.

“BJP has been in power for two terms, why can’t they talk about anything without bringing Congress in between? No one can finish Congress; the country has a Constitution and freedom because of Congress. It doesn’t matter what PM Modi or UP CM Yogi says,” Patole told reporters on Monday.

Demanding PM Narendra Modi’s apology over his remarks that the Congress-Sena-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance government in Maharashtra facilitated the movement of workers and labourers to other states during COVID-19 lockdown, thus resulting in spreading the virus, Patole said that the party will continue to protest outside Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis’ residence till PM apologizes.

“What PM Modi said about Maharashtra is wrong (accusing Congress of giving free train tickets to migrants to leave Mumbai). Protests outside the residence of BJP leader (Devendra Fadnavis) have ended for today, but we’ll continue protesting till PM doesn’t apologize,” he added.

Patole, however, said that the opposition is trying to destabilize the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, but the Congress, Shiv Sena, and the NCP will not let them succeed.
