COVID19: Situation In Kerala Is Worrisome, Rahul Gandhi Urges People In State To Follow Protocols

Mumbai: Amid the steady rise in the COVID-19 cases in Kerala, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi termed the coronavirus situation in the state as ‘worrisome’.

The Congress leader urged the people of Kerala to follow all COVID-19 protocols and stay safe.

“Rising cases of Coronavirus infections in Kerala are worrying.  I appeal to our brothers and sisters in the state to follow all safety measures & guidelines. Please take care,” Gandhi tweeted.

The COVID situation in the southern state is going from bad to worse as it recorded over 22,000 coronavirus cases for the third consecutive day on July 29.

Kerala’s COVID caseload rose to 33,49,365 as 22,064 more people were found infected with the disease. With 128 fresh COVID related deaths, the number of fatalities rose to 16,585.

The southern state reported 22,129 cases on July 27 and 22,056 on July 28.

State Health Minister Veena George said that a total of 31,77,453 people have been cured of coronavirus so far.

At present, 1,54,820 coronavirus patients are under treatment and 4,54,080 are under observation, while 27,480 are in isolation wards of various hospitals, the health minister further informed.
