Cyberabad Case: Police Claim Accused ‘Confessed’ To Raping, Killing Nine Other Women In Similar

Mumbai: In a recent development in Hyderabad rape-murder case, cops probing the case have claimed that two of the four accused had ‘confessed’ to raping and burning nine other women in a similar fashion.

According to a report in the Times of India, a senior police officer claimed that two of the accused-Arif and Chennakeshavulu ‘confessed’ their involvement in raping and burning nine other women on highways in Telangana and Karnataka.

The report quoted the report as saying, “When we arrested the accused in the case of Cyberabad rape and murder, we started looking into 15 other cases where women were raped and set on fire.” During, two of the accused had admitted their involvement. ” Pope official as the saying goes.

Police claimed that the accused committed crimes in Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Mahbubnagar districts of Telangana and the border areas of Karnataka.

On November 27, a 27-year-old vet was allegedly raped and burnt by four men in Chatanapalli area of ​​Cyberabad in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana.

After the brutal rape and murder of the woman, the four accused were killed at the same place when police took them to the scene of a crime reconstruction. Police claimed that the accused died in the shootout after attacking the police team.

Police say that they are verifying every case and teams have been sent to different places to look into the cases.
The police officers’ claim comes after the Supreme Court announced a 2-judge panel to investigate the alleged encounter of the accused. The panel will be headed by former Supreme Court Judge VS Sirpurkar.

Apart from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Telangana government has also formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the police encounter.
