Dancing His Own Way Into People’s Hearts, The Journey Of Dancer Piyush Gurbhele

Mumbai: Piyush Gurbhele danced his way from Nagpur to Dance Deewane, the famous dance reality show he is currently a part of.  This 23-year-old, middle-class boy, won lakhs of hearts by emerging as the winner of South India’s biggest dance show Dhee Champions 2020.

Professionally dancing for twelve years, Piyush’s first-ever dance reality show was Dhee Jodi in which he made his way to the finals. Then, he participated in Dance India Dance Season 6, where he was the second runner up. Interestingly, Piyush was the first boy from his home town to achieve this milestone by dancing his way in Dance India Dance, the glorious dance reality show all over India.

The journey of Piyush Gurbhele in his twelve years of struggle is very inspiring. He had all the hardships that every middle-class Indian dancer faces. Though his parents were very supportive, especially his father, his surroundings were not very accepting. He used to give numerous auditions, slept on the footpath, was rejected from various reality shows, yet he didn’t stop and continued his dance journey.  Then, gradually he began getting shows following which he thought that his life would become better now, but things happened beyond his expectations.

The conditions at his home deteriorated. The next three years of his life was full of struggle and difficulties due to which he suffered from depression also at a point. But, all this didn’t let him lose hope, he gathered all his courage and made up his mind to do more and more shows. His vision was clear that now no matter, whatever happens, he is going to make his name in the dance profession only.

And then finally, Dance Deewane showed him the way. He was quite determined, that now he is not going to let this golden opportunity go from his hands. He wanted to prove himself, and so he began doing hard work right from the beginning.

From preparing himself to perform various styles of dance, to selecting appropriate tracks to enhance his performance on the show, Piyush put his heart and soul to Dance Deewane since lockdown. This is the only reason he got appreciation from the queen of dance herself, Madhuri Dixit Nene, every time he was on the stage. Dance is all about letting your emotions, which can clearly be seen through the wonderful journey of Piyush Gurbhele.
