Duty Time For Maharashtra Women Police Personnel Reduced To 8 Hours From 12

Mumbai: The duty time for women police personnel in Maharashtra has been reduced to eight hours from 12, as per the state Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Pandey’s orders.

The move to reduce working hours for women workers was taken keeping in mind that their duty hours are often extended beyond the stipulated twelve hours, affecting their family life.

Four hours less work on the field will prove to be a boon for women workers, and eight-hour shifts have already been successfully implemented in Nagpur, Pune, Amravati and most recently in Navi Mumbai.

The move also intends to reduce work stress on the women cops, who along with doing professional duties also have the burden of family responsibilities.
