Even After 32 Years, Kashmiri Pandits Got Film Not Justice: Arvind Kejriwal

Mumbai: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that it is wrong that even after 32 years, all Kashmiri Pandits got is a movie but not justice. “My sympathy is with those people who were displaced from Kashmir,” Kejriwal said.

“My sympathy is with those people who were displaced from Kashmir. Even after 32 years, they did not get justice; all they got is a movie. This is wrong,” Kejriwal told Times Now.

Further, he attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Center for doing politics on the issue of Kashmiri Pandits and asked what the party has done for them in the eight years at the Centre.

“There have been BJP governments at the Centre for the last eight years. What have they done for Kashmiri Pandits? Now they are promoting the movie. Do they (Kashmiri Pandits) want this? They want justice,” he said.

Asked how he would get justice, Kejriwal said, “The only way to give him justice is to rehabilitate him.”

“Center should take action against the culprits. I think every state government will support it. If any step is taken in this regard, we will definitely support the Centre,” he added.

On Saturday, Kejriwal received backlash from social media users for demanding that the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ should be uploaded on YouTube and the earned money from it must be spent on the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits.

He also attracted backlash from the BJP leaders for accusing them of “promoting” the movie.
