Every Single Pre-Poll Promise Will Be Fulfilled In Punjab: AAP Chief Kejriwal

Mumbai: Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday assured that his party will fulfil every single pre-poll promise made to the people of Punjab, adding that work on some projects has already started.

He said that according to the announcement of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, 300 units of free electricity would be provided to every household every month from July 1.

Kejriwal also talked about giving jobs to the youth on a large scale and said that the process for this has already started.

“All the promises we made to the people, every promise will be fulfilled, he said. You will fulfil every single guarantee (promise).”

He said that it may take some time to clean up the ‘mess’ created by the previous governments in the last 70 years, but gradually we will make Punjab ‘Rangla’ once again.

Kejriwal, along with Mann, was addressing a gathering here in the evening during a road show in support of Gurmeet Singh, AAP’s candidate for the Sangrur Lok Sabha bypoll on June 23.

Mann, who became the Chief Minister of Punjab after the massive victory of the Aam Aadmi Party, had to resign from the post of Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur and hold a by-election.

Kejriwal, who is also the Chief Minister of Delhi, reiterated that the Mann-led government has zero-tolerance for corruption and said that anyone found indulging in wrongdoing will be dealt with strictly as per law.

Ahead of February’s Punjab Assembly elections, AAP had made several ‘guarantees’ (poll promises), including 300 units of free electricity and transferring Rs 1,000 per month to the account of every woman in Punjab.

Mann had earlier announced that 300 units of free electricity each month for every household in the state from July 1.

“We have started work on our guarantees. Mann Sahab has announced that from July 1, 300 units of free power will be given in entire Punjab. I was discussing with Mann Sahab that in this budget (Mann govt’s first budget to be presented next week), work to set the right government schools will start as we did in Delhi. Mohalla clinics will also be set up. All works will start, but it may take some time,” Kejriwal said.
