Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat also slammed the TMC Supremo and stressed the irreplaceability of Congress in a likely grand alliance against the BJP.

“No individual party can fight against BJP by directly or indirectly criticising Rahul Gandhi if that party continues to think about its political gain and personal ambitions. The Congress is the only viable option for the country and the democracy,” Thorat said. Also Read: I Don’t See Congress Getting 300 Seats In 2024 Polls: Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi

It has been underlined more than once that all is not well between Congress and the TMC. Last month, she skipped meeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi during her Delhi visit, while many Congress leaders have left the grand old party and joined the TMC, further infuriating the Congress leadership in Delhi.

TMC is projecting Mamata Banerjee as a Prime Ministerial candidate against BJP in general elections in 2024, who has recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections with success.
