First Look Out Of The Action Thriller Marjaavaan Starring Riteish Deshmukh And Sidharth Malhotra

Mumbai: After Villian Sidharth Malhotra and Ritesh Deshmukh reunites for their upcoming project action thriller which also features Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh in central roles.

Riteish Deshmukh plays Vishnu, the vertically-challenged antagonist in Milap Zaveri’s next, Marjaavaan, which also marks the actor’s reunion with his Ek Villain nemesis, Sidharth Malhotra. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani, the film also features Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh.

Their new action-thriller sees the duo charging forward with guns. Milap, who wrote the dialogue for Ek Villian, says they knew Riteish wouldn’t agree to do a negative character unless it was something unique. “We decided to make his villain a three-foot-tall but larger-than-life midget with a wicked sense of humour. His Vishnu is arrogant and thinks he is invincible,” the director informs.

Milap admits that the character posed technical challenges in that filming required multiple takes from different angles. “We shot Riteish’s scenes against the green screen and without it for perspective. His eyeliner has to match that of others so Riteish shot looking up, while his co-stars looked down. We couldn’t use two-three camera setups for Riteish’s scenes as we did for others. So, every shot had to be taken five times,” he shares.

The film was earlier slated for October 2 release but was recently pushed to November 22. Admitting that extensive VFX was one of the reasons for it,

Meanwhile, Sidharth played Raghu with a three-feet stick as his co-star’s stand-in as he shot most of his scenes with Riteish alone. “It’s not easy for an actor to shoot solo without the other’s cues and reactions. We’d play Riteish’s dialogue for him to react to while the stick was for him to match the villain’s eye-line,” Milap explains.
