FM Nirmala Sitharaman Calls For More Efforts To Move Up Further On Ease Of Doing Business Rankings

Mumbai: Expressing her satisfaction over India’s upward movement in the World Bank’s Ease Of Doing Business rankings finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said will put more effort to bring such kind of development.

“I am very happy that the country is moving up from the 77th position in 2018 to the 14th position in the Ease of Doing Business ranking. But of course, we have to touch the figure of 50. All efforts will be made in that direction.” Sitharaman said at a press conference here.

“Two cities were covered in all these years for the purpose of the survey. For a large diversified country like ours, only two cities Delhi and Mumbai cannot be adequately represented. Kolkata and Bengaluru will be represented from this coming year. Will be added to the list. Cities surveyed, “she said.

Earlier, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal congratulated Sitharaman saying, “India has jumped from 77th to 63rd rank in the Ease of Doing Business Rankings released just now by the World Bank. Congratulations to PM @NarendraModi Ji for the path-breaking improvements in India’s business environment for the nation’s prosperity and job creation,” he tweeted.
