IndiGo Delhi-Vadodara Flight Diverted To Jaipur After Glitch In Engine

Mumbai: An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Vadodara was diverted to Jaipur on Thursday night. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), vibration in the engine of the flight was detected after which it had to make an emergency landing, reported news agency ANI.

A probe has been ordered by the DGCA to identify the exact cause behind the technical glitch in the IndiGo flight.

“IndiGo flight from Delhi to Vadodara was diverted last night to Jaipur as a precautionary measure, following vibrations in the engines for a fraction of a second. A probe has been ordered,’ Said the DGCA, as reported by ANI.

Notably, a large number of airlines’ maintenance technicians are on sick leave for the past five days. They are demanding the restoration of salaries which were reduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier on July 5, smoke was found inside the cabin after the Raipur-Indore Indigo flight landed. However, all the passengers were able to disembark safely, the DGCA said.

Since the last few months, cases of technical snags in planes are very often being reported in the country. Especially in Spice Jet aircraft, within a few days, over 8 cases have been reported in which major accidents were averted.
