Lost Sense Of Smell Due To Brain Haemorrhage After Domestic Abuse: Poonam Pandey

Mumbai: Actress Poonam Pandey has revealed that she has lost her sense of smell completely after the domestic violence she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband, Sam Bombay.

Poonam Pandey recently quit the reality show Lock-Up, which will have a grand finale on May 7. In the prison-based reality show, Poonam had opened up about domestic violence, revealing that she had tried to kill herself several times because of it.

Talking to ETimes after leaving the show, Poonam said, “I can’t smell things, I ask people around me about the smell. That’s how I smell things. When the domestic violence happened with me, I lost the sense of smell completely. With brain haemorrhage, it is connected.” She added, “But honestly, I am mentally and physically much stronger right now.”

Poonam filed a domestic violence case against Sam in September 2020, just weeks after she married him. She opened up about the abuse in lock up, revealing that he had once beaten her so much that it caused her brain haemorrhage.

She said, “If I love my dog and sleep with them, he would say I love my dogs more than him. What kind of statement is that? Why should I get f**** beaten up for loving my dogs? Is that a reason to get a brain haemorrhage? Because I have one.”

She said that even her brain injury could not heal properly as Sam kept beating her in the same place over and over again.

She recalled, “I used to apply makeup, apply gloss and used to laugh and hide in front of everyone. I used to act very cool in front of everyone. I used to get hit at the same place over and over again.”
