Mumbai: Following the Y-category security provided to Kangana Ranaut by the Centre Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that it was “surprising and sad” that those who insult Mumbai and Maharashtra are being given such kind of protection.
Talking to reporters, Deshmukh said that Maharashtra is not only of NCP, Congress, or Shiv Sena but also of BJP and people. The Maharashtra Home Minister said, “People of all parties should condemn it if one insults Maharashtra.”

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut sparked controversy with her comments against Maharashtra, Mumbai Police, the film industry, and some other related issues.
Kangana also referred to the lynching incident of Palghar, calling the city “addicted to blood”. She also compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and accused an ‘Islam-dominated’ Bollywood.
