Man Claiming To Be Sushant’s Fan Arrested For Giving Death Threats To Aaditya Thackeray

Mumbai: A man named Jaisingh Rajput, who claimed to be a fan of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch Cyber Cell from Bengaluru for giving death threats to Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray.

According to the police, the incident took place on December 8 when the accused initially sent derogatory messages to the minister and blamed him for the “murder” of the late actor, who committed suicide at his Bandra residence last year. The message read “You killed Sushant Singh Rajput…”. Police said the accused sent death threats on the minister’s WhatsApp for not responding to several calls.

The cyber police tracked down the accused in Bengaluru and arrested him on December 18. He has been booked under IPC sections for defamation (500) 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) and section 67 (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material) of the IT Act. electronic form).

The accused was produced before a local magistrate court in Bengaluru where his transit remand was taken before being brought to Mumbai. The police have sent him to police custody till December 23.
