MP Govt Transfers ₹250 Cr To Accounts Of 26,500 Beneficiaries Of Housing Scheme

Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh government transferred ₹250 crores to the accounts of 26,500 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) in the state, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Wednesday.

Chouhan said this on Wednesday during an event in Bhopal. He also virtually witnessed the bhumipujan for the construction of 30,000 houses and inaugurated 50,000 new houses.

He said that the state government is working tirelessly to provide houses to all with the aim of realizing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘Self-reliant India’.

Chouhan said that the objective of the MP government is to ensure that every eligible beneficiary in the state has a pucca house so that the life of the citizens becomes more comfortable.

He said that the state government had earlier approved the construction of 8,68,000 houses, out of which 4,72,000 beneficiaries have already got the ownership of their house.

The remaining houses are being constructed in mission mode, he assured that the benefits of PMAY will soon be extended to those who have not got it yet.

During the COVID-19 period, more than 4.4 lakh houses were built, providing relief to the beneficiaries, an official said.
