Our Film Has No Intention To Showcase Any Community In Bad Light: Ayushman Khurana On Article 15

Mumbai: Ayushman Khurana, who is ready for the forthcoming film Article 15, recently talked about the film and said that there is no favour and there is no intention of showing any community in a bad light.

“I have seen that there is a lot of controversy around ‘Article 15’.” I would like to maintain all those who are opposing and claiming that the film is anti-Brahmin, please see the movie. Ayushman said in a statement, “There is no party in our film, there is no intention of showing any community in a bad light and it has been censored by the censor board.”

The film told the Brahmin community in Uttar Pradesh about the fact that the story has been “tweaked”. With the intent of portraying accused men as a Brahmin, they think that they will defame the community.

“Our film is ‘inspired’ by real events and it is not based on any particular event. This is an amalgamation of a series of events happening in our country. Yes, it is difficult and it will make you uncomfortable but this is a real movie. Ayushman says that this is a “detective drama and is a very relevant film for India and its youth”.

He said, “I only urge everyone to see the film and not make any assumptions about the director’s vision and intentions.”

The trailer of the film was released on May 30, the trailer gives deep insight into the prevalent caste bias, which often lacks discourse in mainstream cinema. The trailer attracts the audience’s attention with a tough story of honour killing and a careless attitude of the police department. The families of the murdered girls asked for help if they were wrongly trapped in the case.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the purpose of the film is to remind people about Article 15 of the Constitution, about how to prevent discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, caste, sex or place of birth and how its value is forgotten.

The film is slated to release on June 28.
