P Chidambaram Moves Court Asking For Home-Made Food In Tihar jail

Mumbai: Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, on Tuesday moved an application to Delhi court asking for Home-cooked food in Tihar jail.

Chidambaram who is lodged in Tihar jail in connection with the INX media case. The application came a day after the  Delhi court dismissed a Bail plea by Chidambaram saying that he ‘might influence a witness in the INX media case’.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chidambaram on August 21. He was subsequently sent to judicial custody and the court will be hearing the plea on October 3 which will decide the future course of action in the case.

It may be noted that the CBI is probing the corruption allegations in the INX media case while the Enforcement Director (ED) is investigating the money laundering allegations against Chidambaram in this case. The former finance minister is forcing the investigation for alleged irregularities under the Foreign Investment Promotions Board (FIPB) clearances given to INX media during his tenure at the finance minister.
