Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked For 3rd Time In 4 Days

Mumbai: Petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the third time in four days on Friday. The prices have been hiked by 80 paise/litre in Delhi. Petrol will cost ₹97.81/litre in the national capital, while diesel will cost ₹89.07/ litre.

The price of petrol in Mumbai has increased by 84 paise to Rs 112.51 per litre and after the hike of 85 paise, the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 96.70 per litre. Petrol in Chennai will cost Rs 103.67 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 93.71 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata is being sold at Rs 106.34 per litre after an increase of 84 paise and diesel at Rs 91.42 per litre after increasing by 80 paise.

This is the third increase in four days after a stagnation of more than four months. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise per litre on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Earlier on Thursday, oil companies increased the prices of petrol and diesel, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) increased the rate of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Re 1 per kg. The price of 1 kg of CNG in Delhi has gone up to Rs 59.01 per kg.

The IGL has also increased the price of domestic piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 1 per standard cubic meter (SCM) effective from Thursday.
