PM Holds Meeting With NDMA Officials Over Vizag Gas Leak

Mumbai: Following the recent gas leak incident that took place in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, PM Narendra Modi held a meeting with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) officials.

Reportedly, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were also present at the meeting.

Earlier today, Modi spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the aftermath of the Visakhapatnam gas leakage mishap and assured all help and support to the state.

“PM @narendramodi has spoken to Andhra Pradesh CM Shri @ysjagan regarding the situation in Visakhapatnam. He assured all help and support,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh apprised the Prime Minister of the accident. The Chief Minister informed them about the rescue operations being carried out at the accident site. He assured the Prime Minister that the situation was under control and medical treatment was being provided to the victims.

Earlier, the Director-General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had told ANI that more than 800 people were taken to hospitals in relief operations.
