Robert Vadra Alleged For Purchasing London Based Property Worth 1.9 Million Pounds, HC Refuse To Grant Interim Relief

Mumbai: On Monday the Delhi High Court refused to grant interim relief to the accused Robert Vadra and Manoj Arora who had requested HC foreign FIR alleged on money laundering case by Enforcement Directorate (ED).

A division bench of justice Hima Kohli and Vinod Goel said, “A vigilant is already been filed and heard in the house of Patiala and hence we will not come in between and interfere.”

Robert Vadra is the husband of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and brother in law of Congress President, Rahul Gandhi.

By challenging certain rules of the prevention of money laundering act (PMLA), the bench asked the agency to register another file of the leader.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta questioned during the proceeding of the case that why the case is been pending before the Top Supreme Court (SC).

To the appearing of ED, Mehta said as an abuse to the process of law.

The court will try to obtain a response from the central government and the next hearing will be heard on the 2nd of May.

Of the PMLA, Robert has been against Section 3 i.e Offence of Money Laundering, 19 i.e Power to arrest, 24 i.e Burden of proof, 50 i.e Power of authority is regarding summons, production of documents and evidence.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Advocate DP Singh will represent the ED whereas, senior advocate Abhishek Singh Mannu Sanghavi KTS Tulsi represented Vadra and Arora.

Robert had a plea to HC on Wednesday for an FIR filed on money laundering case by ED for which he was cross-questioned by the agency.

The case which was filed against Robert Vadra was for the purchase of a property based in London, United Kingdom at 12, Bryanston square. ED alleged that it is worth 1.9 million pounds.
