Samajwadi Party Will Not Ally With Big Parties In The Upcoming Elections: Akhilesh Yadav

The party leader also speculated a win by 400 seats in the elections

Mumbai: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said that in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly election his party will secure 400 seats as the state’s electoral is disenchanted by BJP under Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking at the Times Now Navbharat Navnirman Manch event in Lucknow, Akhilesh further said that every election is fought differently and people have new demands.

“The attraction towards the BJP which was visible earlier is not there anymore. The BJP has confined its Sankalp Patra to the dustbin,” Akhilesh told Times Network Group Editor and Times Now Navbharat Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar.

He said, “The work always speaks for itself and the people will this time vote for a party which respects all sections of the society, respects farmers and is willing to provide jobs.”

The SP leader added, “It is possible that the Samajwadi Party and its allies will be given 400 seats by the people.”

Further, he said that SP will not ally with any big parties (congress) for elections. “I have learned from my experience that the SP will not ally with big parties but will try to bring together only smaller parties,” he stated.

He attacked the ruling party BJP and said that prices have risen during their government and promises made were not fulfilled. “BJP had promised to double farmers’ income but that has not been done. Petrol, diesel, gas prices, electricity prices all have risen exponentially,” he pointed out.

He also said that the SP government had always taken up development work. On this when asked about why was Samajwadi Party not able to return to power, he said that BJP had already swayed people in their favour.

“The BJP had promised 70 lakh jobs in its Sankalp Patra; how many have been provided? Backward Classes and Dalits have been disrespected and humiliated under the BJP rule,” he claimed

“Instead of asking me to get vaccinated, the Centre should be concerned about making vaccines available. Countries around the world are preparing for booster doses while in India, we are still working to give the first dose to the population,” he said. SP has never opposed vaccines but in fact, asked the government to set up camps in rural areas. Akhilesh Yadav also said that he will get his jab once everyone in the state is vaccinated.

For the next year assembly elections SP will form the government with the help of Women and Youth. He added that the party is moving ahead and while following its Former leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s footsteps.
