Siddharth Malhotra Shares How Difficult It Was To Play A Role Of A Patna Boy: Jabariya Jodi

Mumbai: Siddharth Malhotra who has always seen as a simple and with aggression kinda a boy till now. In his next Jabria Jodi, he would be playing the role of a Patna Boy.

In his recent interview he shared how difficult to play such character as he started reading Hindi Newspapers and also researched about pakadwa vivaah (groom kidnapping).

He said, “I read a lot of Hindi newspapers. I also read on pakadwa vivaah (groom kidnapping). There are real videos of pakadwa vivaah on the web. The reason for this occurrence is the burden of dowry, which prevents girls from getting married easily. I didn’t want to tan myself for the character. It’s a stupid stereotype that a small-town boy has a scorched complexion. The character is a Shiv bhakt, he smokes weed like Shivji had ganja. He also wears a rudraksha. We added desi elements like earrings. I practised the Patnaiya Hindi dialect with a coach.”

Notably, fas are executed to see him in a new character and waiting for the film to hit the theatres.

He further said that “Yes, people are surprised that a Delhi lad has taken on the avatar of a Patna boy effortlessly. That’s a big compliment. Ekta Kapoor called me after watching the Zilla ‘Hilela’ song and said, “You’re looking full tapori. I’d love to dance to this song.”

Jabariya Jodi is based on a story of Pakadwa Vivaah (groom kidnapping) which is done in Bihar, where youngsters are been forcefully married to a woman.

Directed by Prashant Singh and Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shona Kapoor, and Shailesh R. Singh. The film was scheduled to be released on 2nd August, but it re-scheduled due to the clash with Judgementall Hai Kya, Now it is going to be released on 9th August 2019.
