Terror Sabotages Amarnath Yatra. Weapons Recovered From Terror Sites

Mumbai: The army found Pakistani weapon near the Amarnath route on Friday. The weapons included M-24 sniper rifle, IEDs and landmines. After the intelligence reports came in the Jammu and Kashmir government sent out an advisory stating the fear of a terror strike. The yatra is now called on hold and the pilgrims are asked to leave the state immediately.

The security advisory letter stated, “Keeping in the view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats, with specific targeting of Amarnath yatra, and given the prevailing security situation in the Kashmir valley, in the interest of the safety and security of the tourists and Amarnath yatris, it is advised that they may curtail their stay in the valley immediately and take necessary measures to return as soon as possible,” on Friday Indian Army confirmed that the Pakistani army’s intention to disrupt the Amarnath Yatra was true.

In a press conference, Chinar Corps Commander Lt. general KJS Dhillon said that the neighbour was trying to disrupt the peace in the valley but they would not be tolerated.

Dhillon said that there were several attempts to attack the security forces of Amarnath on Thursday night. They found improvised explosive devices and IED expert terrorist that they are capturing and eliminating point to the fact that Pakistan is trying to disrupt the peace in Kashmir. He said, “Pakistan army landmines have been recovered. This indicates that the Pakistan Army is involved in terrorism in Kashmir. An M-24 American rifle with a telescope was also recovered from a terror cache along the Amarnath Yatra route”

On asked about the reason for the deployment of troops he said, “We had spotted some malicious activities in the valley. The troops are for maintaining peace and protection”

The states former CM Omar Abdullah asked the centre and the state authorities for clarification of the entire situation as the pilgrims, locals and the politicians alike are under constant fear of the abrogation of Article 35A.

He also said that when asked the state authorities reply by saying, “We don’t know anything, but something is happening” but no one happened to say what that ‘something’ was.
