Tamil Nadu Govt Extends COVID Lockdown Till June 7

Mumbai: The Tamil Nadu government on Friday confirmed that the ongoing COVID-induced lockdown will be extended to 7 June. No additional exemption will be granted to the existing lockdown and the existing restrictions will remain in force.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that the statewide lockout would be extended to 6 am on 7 June for another week.

“Provision stores are allowed to receive orders online or over the phone and supply at the customer’s residence between 7 am and 6 pm,” he said.

He also announced that he has instructed Cooperation and Consumer Protection Department to distribute a kit containing 13 provision supplies to every rice ration cardholder through ration shops for June.
