Mumbai: A 25-year-old Maharashtra woman who tried to abort her foetus at home watching YouTube videos told police that a man named Shoeb Khan was raping her since 2016 on the pretext of marriage police in Nagpur in Maharashtra said on Monday.

The incident took place on Thursday in the Yashodhara Nagar area of the city, an official said.

“The woman has told us that Shoaib Khan (30) had been raping her since 2016 on the pretext of marriage. When she got pregnant, Khan asked her to abort by watching a YouTube video and getting prescribed medicines in it,” he said.

“While trying to carry out an abortion procedure on herself, the woman’s condition plummeted and she had to be rushed by her kin to a hospital. Khan has been arrested for rape,” the official informed.
