Wherever There Is Encroachment, Bulldozers Should Be Used: MoS Lekhi

Mumbai: Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi on Tuesday said that bulldozers should be used to remove encroachments.

“Wherever there is encroachment, bulldozers should be used. Whenever there is an encroachment on public property, it is necessary to remove it,” Lekhi told media persons in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, speaking on the violent incident that took place in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Hanuman Jayanti, he further alleged that the April 16 violence in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri was a conspiracy by those who want to promote enmity.

“It is a conspiracy by those who want to promote enmity to disturb the law and order situation. Police is taking cognizance of the matter,” he said.

He further said that the police report is awaited to see who is responsible. “It should be probed thoroughly…” Lekhi added.

Several incidents of stone-pelting were reported in some states on Sunday during Ram Navami processions.

Taking action against the culprits in Madhya Pradesh, the district administration and police demolished the illegal buildings of miscreants involved in the attack on the Ram Navami procession.

Officials used bulldozers on about 45 houses and shops. Around 16 houses and 29 shops were demolished. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday assured the victims of Khargone violence of rebuilding their homes.
