Who Are We To Ask Question On Her Decision? J&K CM Omar Abdullah As Zaira Wasim Announces To Quit Bollywood

Mumbai: Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) president Shah Faesal come in support of Bollywood actor Zaira Wasim as she decided to quit the industry.

Earlier in the day, Wasim who made her debut in one of the blockbusters of Amir Khan’s film ‘Dangal’ announced that she has realised “though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here”.

Supporting her decision, Omar Abdullah said, “Who are any of us to question Zaira Wasim’s choices? It’s her life to do with as she pleases.”

“All I will do is wish her well & hope that whatever she does makes her happy,” he added.

Meanwhile, Shah Faesal tweeted saying “I always respected Zaira Wasim’s decision to be an actor. Perhaps no other Kashmiri has achieved such an iconic status, such as success and fame, at such a young age. And today, as she quit the industry, I have no choice but to respect her decision. Wish her luck.”

Zaira earlier said that “Five years ago I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me.”

“I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth.”

“However, that’s never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand.

Wasim made her film debut with the role of wrestler Geeta Phogat in the biographical sports film Dangal (2016), which emerged as the highest grossing Indian film, grossing more than ₹2,000 crore (US$290 million) worldwide.
