Will Ram Navami Processions Be Taken Out In Pak If Not In India: Giriraj Singh

Mumbai: Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh asked if Ram Navami processions should be taken out in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan if not in India.

The BJP leader said the country did not object to the construction of new mosques after independence and the “manifold increase in the population of Muslims” in the country, despite the massive demolition of temples in Pakistan where Hindus faced near-extinction and warned that “now, patience is running out”.

Singh made provocative remarks during a conversation with journalists in this district of North Bihar late on Monday night. He was taking a dig at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and “secular politicians with Jinnah’s DNA” remarks that Hindus should avoid visiting Muslim-dominated areas to avoid communal flare-ups while taking out religious processions.

If not in this country, where will Ram Navami be celebrated? In Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan? If leaders like Rahul Gandhi and the sick (RJD President) were attacked by practices of any other religion, Lalu Prasad would have taken to the streets for his politics. Tourism” said the Union Minister who is in the news for his sharp statements.

If not in this country, where will Ram Navami be celebrated? In Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan? Had leaders like Rahul Gandhi and the ailing (RJD president) been attacked by practices of any other religion, Lalu Prasad would have hit the streets for their political tourism,” said the Union minister who remains in news for his acerbic utterances.

Singh, the MP from Bihar’s Begusarai, expressed his displeasure over incidents such as attacks on police officers in Karnataka’s Hubli and Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, which have seen communal violence in the recent past.

He said he was shocked by the Gorakhpur incident, where an IIT graduate accused Gorakhdham Peeth, a religious institute headed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and attacking security personnel before getting arrested and booked under the UAPA.

“The country was partitioned in 1947. We must not commit the same mistake again by talking in terms of Hindu-dominated or Muslim-dominated areas. Don’t Hindus heartily take part in Tazia processions during Muharram,” Singh asked.
