Women’s In India Are Never Going To Get Justice From The Law: Tanushree Dutta On Nana Patekar Clean Chit
Mumbai: After Nana Patekar was provided clean chit over sexual harassment case, Tanushree was disappointed. The actor had alleged that Nana touched her inappropriately on the sets of a film in the year 2009.
Talking to Times Now about development in the matter, Tanushree said that women in India are never going to get justice from the law. She said that she knew that this is coming in her way because women are always forced to criticize and threaten when they raise their voices against sex offenders.
Talking to the news portal, the actor said that it is important for women to keep naming and shaking their oppressors under the movements like #MeToo because they are not going to get anything from the dependence of law enforcement.
She was quoted saying, “The movement, this whole idea of speaking out and naming and shaming your harassers and abusers is not dependent on the law taking any action because this is the proof of which why so many women took to social media to name and shame their abusers and harassers, because this is what happens when you file an FIR.”
In the case of Tanushree, the police have mentioned that he did not get any legal evidence that Nana had harassed him on the set of Horn OK Pleasss.
Tanushree said, “Do not believe in law and order, they are good for nothing. Now, it should be an example for all those who have questioned women why you did not enter FIR, police complaint So, this is one way to stop those people. ”
The actor questioned the inappropriate behaviour of the police not to examine all the witnesses before filing a b-summary in the court. He talked about Nana and once again accused him of disturbing many women.
Tanushree was quoted saying, “It amazes me that a man who has been for decades called out for his abusive and foolish behaviour, if one woman calls him out in public, she still gets called a liar. This is an old story in our country… any woman who speaks about harassment or abuse is a liar.”
