Zaira Wasim To Miss ‘The Sky Is Pink’ Promotions After Exiting Films
Mumbai: Zaira Wasim who decided to quit Bollywood in last week, has come up, stating that Zaira won’t be a part of promotions for her upcoming film The Sky Is Pink.
The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.
Zaira who announced her decision over a social media post has created a huge buzz among Bollywood celebrities.
The closest source of the development told Mid Day, “With the film being released on October 11, the makers were planning to stop the promotion by the end of August, from Zaira’s Facebook post on Sunday that she has decided to sever her ties from films. In keeping with her decision, she has requested the makers to excuse her from the promotional activities.”
“While she was a thorough professional throughout the shoot, she is now firmly in her resolve to not be associated with movies in any capacity. The team, including director Shonali Bose, have been informed of her decision,” sources added
Meanwhile, the step was supported by the makers of ‘The Sky is Pink’, in a statement to PTI the production house said that they were lucky to have a talented actress like Zaira in the film and that they “will be supportive of her in every way”.
“Zaira is an exceptional artiste and we are lucky to have had her play Aisha Chaudhury in our film, ‘The Sky Is Pink’. She has been a complete professional all through the shoot of the film, which concluded earlier this month. This is a purely personal decision, which she has taken after much thought and we will be supportive of her in every way – now and always,” the statement reads.
Last week Zaira posted a long note on her Instagram page which reads, “Five years ago, I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth. However, that’s never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand.”
